Leather Patches

Custom leather patches that age into the garment

Real or vegan leather, debossed, embossed or laser-etched with your mark. Leather does not sit on a garment the way a stitched badge does — it settles into it, and it looks better after two years than it did on day one.

How it is made

What you are actually getting

A leather patch is a piece of hide pressed under a heated die that stamps your logo into the surface. Nothing is added — the mark is a permanent deformation of the material itself, which is why it cannot peel, crack or wash off.

We work in full-grain and top-grain leather as well as vegan alternatives, in natural tans through to blacks. Foil can be added into the debossed recess where a design needs metallic contrast against the hide.

Key features

Why our leather patches hold up

01

Debossed, embossed or etched

Pressed in, raised out, or laser-etched for the finest line work — matched to how your mark is drawn.

02

Real or vegan hide

Full-grain leather where character matters, or vegan alternatives that take the same die with no compromise on finish.

03

Ages well

Leather darkens and softens with wear, so the badge develops with the garment instead of looking tired next to it.

04

Foil and edge options

Gold, silver or coloured foil in the recess; straight, rounded or die-cut outlines.

Our production process

  1. 01

Send the idea, not a finished file

A sketch on paper, a logo in low resolution, or a description in a WhatsApp message is enough. Our design team redraws it to production quality at no charge.

  2. 02

    Digital mockup inside 24 hours

You get a to-scale visual with thread colours, dimensions and backing called out. Ask for changes as many times as you need — revisions are free until you are happy.

  3. 03

Approve, then production runs 7–14 days

Nothing goes to the floor without your sign-off. On large or repeat orders we can send a physical sample first so you can feel the weight and edge before committing.

  4. 04

    Inspected, boxed, tracked

Every batch is checked for colour match, stitch density, edge finish and backing adhesion. Then it ships with tracking, anywhere in the USA or overseas.

Backing options

How it attaches

The backing decides whether the patch is permanent, removable, or something you press on at home in ten seconds.

Heat press patch backing

Heat press

Applied with heat and pressure in a commercial press. The strongest bond and the flattest finish — best for bulk uniform runs.

Sew on patch backing

Sew-on

Stitched directly onto the fabric. Permanent, traditional, and the only sensible choice for leather, heavy denim and thick outerwear.

Velcro hook and loop patch backing

Velcro

Hook-and-loop backing so the patch comes off and goes back on. Standard for tactical kit, name tapes and anything that swaps between garments.

Iron on patch backing

Iron-on

Heat-activated adhesive you can apply with a household iron. Fast and clean on cotton and poly-cotton; add a few stitches if it will see heavy wear.

Border options

How it ends

The edge is the first thing that frays on a cheap patch. Three ways to finish it properly.

  1. Merrowed border finish

    Merrowed border

The traditional raised, rounded edge. Thick, protective, ideal for simple shapes — circles, shields, rectangles.

  2. Embroidered border finish

    Embroidered border

Clean modern lines that can follow any outline, so intricate and irregular shapes stay sharp.

  3. Laser cut border finish

    Laser cut border

A smooth, sealed edge with a subtle sheen and virtually no bulk. The most precise option for complex silhouettes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both. Full-grain and top-grain leather give the most character and age best; vegan alternatives take the same die and suit brands with a no-animal-products policy.

Debossed presses the mark into the surface and is the more common, subtler choice. Embossed raises it out — bolder, and better on simple heavy shapes.

Spot clean only. Leather does not belong in a washing machine; if the garment is laundered often, choose a different construction or a removable backing.

Sew-on, almost always — stitched around the perimeter or across the top edge. Adhesive backings exist but will not hold on a garment that flexes.

Within the range leather dyes allow. Foil in the debossed recess is the reliable way to bring an exact brand colour onto the patch.
