PVC Patches

Custom PVC patches that shrug off the weather

Soft moulded rubber built up in layers, so the artwork is physically raised rather than stitched. Rain, mud, salt and UV do nothing to it, and the colour will not fade out over a season.

How it is made

What you are actually getting

A PVC patch is poured, not stitched. We cut a mould from your artwork, fill it with coloured soft rubber layer by layer, then cure it. Because each colour is a separate physical layer, you can build genuine relief into the design — a raised skull, a recessed panel, a bevelled outline.

The result is completely sealed. There is no fabric to soak, no thread to rot, and no edge to fray. That is why tactical, marine and outdoor customers specify PVC almost exclusively.

Key features

Why our PVC patches hold up

01

Waterproof through and through

Solid rubber with no absorbent core, so it can be hosed down, submerged, or worn through a storm without change.

02

UV stable colour

Pigment mixed into the rubber rather than printed on top — colour goes all the way through and will not sun-bleach.

03

2D or 3D relief

Flat multi-colour panels, or true sculpted depth where the design needs to catch shadow.

04

Exact PMS matching

No thread chart to work around — we mix to your Pantone reference directly.

Our production process

  1. 01

Send the idea, not a finished file

A sketch on paper, a logo in low resolution, or a description in a WhatsApp message is enough. Our design team redraws it to production quality at no charge.

  2. 02

    Digital mockup inside 24 hours

You get a to-scale visual with thread colours, dimensions and backing called out. Ask for changes as many times as you need — revisions are free until you are happy.

  3. 03

Approve, then production runs 7–14 days

Nothing goes to the floor without your sign-off. On large or repeat orders we can send a physical sample first so you can feel the weight and edge before committing.

  4. 04

    Inspected, boxed, tracked

Every batch is checked for colour match, stitch density, edge finish and backing adhesion. Then it ships with tracking, anywhere in the USA or overseas.

Backing options

How it attaches

The backing decides whether the patch is permanent, removable, or something you press on at home in ten seconds.

Heat press patch backing

Heat press

Applied with heat and pressure in a commercial press. The strongest bond and the flattest finish — best for bulk uniform runs.

Sew on patch backing

Sew-on

Stitched directly onto the fabric. Permanent, traditional, and the only sensible choice for leather, heavy denim and thick outerwear.

Velcro hook and loop patch backing

Velcro

Hook-and-loop backing so the patch comes off and goes back on. Standard for tactical kit, name tapes and anything that swaps between garments.

Iron on patch backing

Iron-on

Heat-activated adhesive you can apply with a household iron. Fast and clean on cotton and poly-cotton; add a few stitches if it will see heavy wear.

Border options

How it ends

The edge is the first thing that frays on a cheap patch. Three ways to finish it properly.

  1. Merrowed border finish

    Merrowed border

The traditional raised, rounded edge. Thick, protective, ideal for simple shapes — circles, shields, rectangles.

  2. Embroidered border finish

    Embroidered border

Clean modern lines that can follow any outline, so intricate and irregular shapes stay sharp.

  3. Laser cut border finish

    Laser cut border

A smooth, sealed edge with a subtle sheen and virtually no bulk. The most precise option for complex silhouettes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. They are solid rubber with no fabric core, so water does not penetrate them at all. They can be submerged and wiped clean.

2D keeps all colours on flat, level layers. 3D sculpts the surface so parts of the design physically rise and fall — better for logos with depth, animals, or lettering that should stand out.

Velcro is the standard for tactical use so patches can be swapped. Sew-on channels can be moulded into the edge, and heat-seal backing is available for permanent application.

Yes. Pigment is mixed to your Pantone reference before moulding, so PVC gives the most accurate colour match of any construction we offer.

Practical moulding runs from about 1 inch up to roughly 12 inches. Larger is possible but the mould cost rises — ask and we will quote it.
